POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a highly skilled copywriter who can write compelling and engaging copy to match the brand voice of our higher education institution client-partners. The ideal candidate will have a thorough understanding of our target audience and will be able to create messaging that resonates with them and drives conversions. The type of collateral for which this role will be asked to create written content includes but is not limited to postcards, emails, brochures, booklets, webpage content, social media posts and ads, and advertising copy. Additionally, the candidate will have experience in B to C marketing, particularly to young adults. This position must work closely with enrollmentFUEL account managers and project managers to create dynamic and engaging content.
POSITION OUTCOME

Write copy that matches each higher education institution’s brand voice and engages the desired target audience, typically aged 16–18 years and young working professionals pursuing undergraduate or graduate degrees Incorporate data-driven or variable messaging based on audience characteristics or segmentation Work closely with the Account Manager and Project Manager to develop fresh and unique ideas for written content of each client-partner campaign/project Ensure that all copy is clear, concise, and free of errors Collaborate with other team members, such as designers and developers, to ensure that copy is integrated seamlessly into all marketing materials Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in copywriting Represent enrollmentFUEL in a professional manner in all work-related activities Accurately reflect and portray the mission of enrollmentFUEL
REQUIRED SKILLS, TRAITS, AND ABILITIES
The most qualified candidate for this job is someone who has five or more years of copywriting experience. Experience in the higher education industry is not a requirement, but the ability to quickly become familiar with the industry, particularly as it relates to the recruitment and retention of students, and to adapt to common best practices is key.
Other Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, journalism, or related field Proven experience as a copywriter, preferably in B to C marketing Strong understanding of target audience and the ability to create messaging that engages and drives conversions Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail Ability to write in a way that matches each higher education institution’s brand voice Experience with data-driven or variable messaging based on audience characteristics or segmentation Strong collaboration and communication skills Ability to engage with higher education constituents and project team members proactively and positively Advanced knowledge of word processing programs and software is a must Must be self-sufficient in decision-making skills, and exhibit superior time management skills Ability to work under pressure and handle many tasks at once is essential Must be outgoing and have good critical thinking and problem-solving skills
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Job Tasks:
Write copy as required for campaign/project elementsWork directly with account managers and project managers to determine client-partner needs within parameters outlined in the campaign contract within a creative mindset for content developmentDevelop creative and engaging written content based on campaign precepts and summary of deliverables provided by the enrollmentFUEL team during campaign buildHave a thorough understanding of how the desired outcomes for the enrollmentFUEL solutions included in the campaign/project and how they can solve client-partner issues and pain pointsAssist in gathering assets needed from the client-partner for campaign development and make available to the enrollmentFUEL team in an organized fashionBe accountable for meeting assigned delivery deadlines for all content assigned for developmentDeliver drafts and subsequent revisions to enrollmentFUEL and convey feedback to team in a timely mannerUpon campaign completion, work with enrollmentFUEL data team to gather data needed to write the Partnership Review Report for the client-partnerAttend any enrollmentFUEL meetings as requestedWrite blogs and articles as needed for FUEL, valuing our teaching-learning philosophy
WORK DISTRIBUTION
75% – Campaign development, implementation, and client-partner retention
15% – Research assigned client-partner institution branding and style to inform appropriate brand voice for written content development
5% – Attend planning/brainstorming meetings
5% – Administrative tasks—progress and time tracking, etc.
