True Zero Technologies is seeking experienced Windows Administrators to join our team. The ideal candidate will be a quick learner, adaptable to new technologies and passionate about automating tasks to enhance operational efficiency. You will be responsible for maintaining, upgrading and patching Windows-based systems, with strong focus on automation through scripting and ensuring seamless coordination with the developers, testers and other supporting teams.
In addition to technical skills, the ideal candidate must have a customer-focused mindset, aiming to create value for both internal and external stakeholders by ensuring system reliability, enhancing service delivery and contributing to business continuity. In this role, you will collaborate with the development, testing and other support groups to ensure smooth rollout of patches and updates across multiple environments, ensuring minimal disruption to applications/services.
As a TZT consultant, the candidate will receive access to the full knowledge base which is driven by the True Zero community as well as the technical backing of the entire PS team. True Zero encourages collaboration and growth through information sharing and knowledge workshops. The candidate will also have access to our internal Slack channel to stay connected with the team as well as the necessary tools to train, demo, test and grow their professional skills.
Qualification Requirements

Education and Certification:Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).Relevant certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Windows Server Administrator Associate, MCSE, or equivalent.Security+ certification (or equivalent DoD 8570-compliant certification).
Experience Level:Minimum of 3-5 years of professional experience in Windows system administration.Previous experience in supporting federal government agencies or contractors preferred
Technical Expertise:Proficiency in administering, configuring, and troubleshooting Windows Server environments (e.g., Server 2016, 2019, 2022).Experience with Active Directory management, including Group Policies, DNS, and LDAP.Knowledge of Windows PowerShell scripting for automation and task management.Familiarity with virtualization technologies (e.g., Hyper-V, VMware).Experience managing enterprise patching and updates using WSUS or SCCM/MECM.Knowledge of system monitoring tools and performance tuning (e.g., SolarWinds, SCOM).Understanding of networking concepts and protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DHCP, SMB).Experience with SonarQube, IQ scans and vulnerability managementExperience troubleshooting HTTPS, firewalls, web servers, proxy servers, etc.Knowledgeable about security concepts: TLS, JWT, oAuth, CyberArk, vulnerabilities remediations
Federal Government and Compliance Knowledge:Understanding of federal security and compliance standards, such as FISMA, NIST 800-53, and DISA STIGs.Experience implementing and managing secure configurations in compliance with federal standards.
General IT Skills:Familiarity with enterprise backup and disaster recovery solutions for Windows environments.Knowledge of ITIL practices and service management frameworks.Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and automated deployment tools.
Soft Skills:Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation and collaboration.Ability to work independently or as part of a team, managing multiple priorities effectively.Analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on continuous improvement.
Work Authorization and Clearance:U.S. citizenship required.Ability/willingness to hold a federal security clearance is required.

Position Responsibilities

Windows Systems Management: Install, configure and maintain Windwos servers (Windwos Sever 2016/2019/2022) ensuring optimal performance, availability and security.System Upgrades, Patching and Vulnerability Mitigation: Keep systems up to date by applying latest patches, upgrades and security fixes, monitor for vulnerabilities and mitigate risks. Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure these updates, vulnerability fixes are tested and deployed successfully across environments.Automation and Scripting: Develop and maintain automation scripts using PowerShell, Ansible or other automation tools to rollout patches, upgrades, streamline system administration tasks and avoid manual work.Collaboration with Stakeholders: Work effectively with team members, development, Testing and other support teams to ensure successful rollout of patches, updates and upgrades across various environments, minimizing downtime and ensuring environment stability.Security: Implement and maintain security best practices on Windows Severs  including Active Directory management, group configurations, firewall settings and secure remote access. Integrate security in all scripting, maintenance, administration tasks working in a highly secured environment. Proper handling of password, end to end encryption and 1005 compliance with security policies and best practices.Backup and Recovery: Set up, manage and test backup and disaster recovery systems. Ensure backups are performed on regularly, test recoverability of the backup images.Customer Focused: Ensure system reliability, performance and automation efforts directly contribute to improved service delivery and customer satisfaction.Problem Resolution: Passionate about problem solving and quickly/efficiently resolving system issues, minimizing downtime and maintaining service availability.Networking, Monitoring and Communication skills: Basic knowledge of network protocols, configuration and troubleshooting (TCP/IP, HTTPS, DNS, DHCP etc.). Familiarity with system monitoring tools like SolarWinds, Microsoft System Center Operations Manager(SCOM). Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
